As I've discussed in previous posts, my husband is quite sensitive to any brightness while sleeping. This forces him to rotate his bedside time around and out of sight so as not to disturb his sleep, but means he can't just glance at the time before dozing off again.
This began my search for the best alarm clock with dim light, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that there are great options out there to control the often overly large and bright numbers that can really get in the way of a good night's sleep!
My criteria for this was very, very simple - I needed some way to be able to turn down the brightness of the numbers. And I definitely was looking for something that was visually appealing at the same time.
Beyond that, I had an open mind, so take a look below and see the wide variety of options I was able to find!
In addition, it has a really neat sunrise wake up feature, which gradually begins to light up your room during the 30 minutes before your set wake up time. This feature can do the opposite at night, gradually weakening until your set bedtime.
You have seven different surrounding colors to choose from depending on your mood and preference, and the buttons for setting all of your options are very user friendly. Finally, if you love to wake up to music, you have an FM radio option as well.
This has a full range dimmer from 0 - 100, offering a comfort level of brightness for anyone. In addition to the dimmer, it has a projection option which also can be adjusted for intensity, or turned off completely.
A bonus is two USB phone charger ports on the back of this clock.
This does not have a radio, so if you like waking up to music, this option is not for you.
Do you like to read in bed? This comes with a nightlight that can be turned on and off with the simple press of a button, and offers enough light for reading before bed.
Are you a heavy sleeper? The alarm has low and high settings just for you. The snooze lasts for 9 minutes.
All in all, this is a solid option for simplicity, but includes all the important features.
I love this small, minimalist wood bedside option with wonderful white numbers. There are four options for adjusting the illumination, so there is an option for all. It's a very compact size which appeals to many. You can also set the LED to drop to the lowest setting between 6pm and 7am.
It does have a USB in the back, so you can charge a phone or attach it to the new cable boxes with no clocks, the sky is the limit here.
This is perfect for the home, office, or even for travel.
Simple can often win the show, and if you love a minimalist look, this is for you!
